Welcome To Woodland Playhouse!
"Play is the highest form of research." - Albert Einstein
At Woodland Playhouse, we believe in play. Our teachers work together to create a warm, welcoming, comfortable environment that allows children the space and opportunities to grow, learn, and thrive. In this space, children find themselves on the path to becoming independent, compassionate, self-confident individuals. Experiential exploration and both free and guided play plant the seeds for healthy learning. We devote our days to allowing children to experience the magic of their own imaginations and lay the foundation for later academic success.
Woodland Playhouse was established in 2007. We are a small center preschool licensed by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services and a certificated Universal Pre-Kindergarten provider through the Onteora Central School District. In addition, our summer camps are licensed through Ulster County.
What's happening at Woodland Playhouse?
As we have heard all over and from everyone, the year 2020 has been an incredibly unusual and fluid year. It has forced us at Woodland Playhouse to re-imagine, recreate, and stretch in ways we would not have considered in the past.
For the 2020-21 school year, Woodland Playhouse will be offering both full and half day options. We are hopeful that as the year progresses, schools and other public places will become safer and we'll be able to steadily return to what we would call "normalcy".
In the meantime, we have worked hard to offer a school program that is as safe as possible without sacrificing our commitment to experiential, inquiry-based, child-led play.
Our summer camps were a roaring success, and we are confident our school program will be as well. Through private pay families and our partnership with Onteora's UPK program, we are currently full - but please reach out to be placed on our wait list for the 2020-21 or 2021-22 school year.
